CFS Wins Award for Solar Power

On September 28th, Church Farm School was one of 17 Chester County organizations to be honored with the prestigious Lodestar Award. The Lodestar Award is a distinction given to organizations in Pennsylvania leading the way in investing in clean and renewable solar energy. The school added a 1.1 megawatt solar installation onto five acres of Church Farm School land in 2013, powering more than 80% of the school’s annual electricity needs. Reducing energy costs has allowed redirection of the dollars spent on energy to the school's mission of providing quality education at reasonable cost.
